This locomotive was built by Mather & Platt of Manchester for industrial use in Sweden at an iron works. The locomotive had a very similar cab to the locomotives built by Mather & Platt for the
City & South London Railway (the first London "tube"). It was also powered by Hopkinson electric motors of the double armature type with a spur gearing to allow for very slow speeds. The locomotive could haul up to seventy tons.
